CNHC have vacancies for one Lay and two Registrant board members. Here, Tara Willmott, a Lay Board member shares her experiences of being part of the CNHC Board:

I’m Tara Willmott and I’ve been a Lay Board Member at CNHC for two and a half years.

I was attracted to applying for the role as I was in the position of developing a portfolio career and wanting to expand my voluntary roles. I was working part-time setting up my own company in medical education having left a large medical regulator and I wanted a role in the health field - but not one I had worked in before.  I was looking to share my knowledge and experience while also learning new skills as a board member.

I have loved meeting other CNHC Board members and working on projects together such as developing the complaints process. As a small Board and organisation everyone mucks in and shares their experiences and expertise. We are all equals and everyone’s views and opinions are valued and welcomed.

One of my favourite experiences (when such things were possible) was when I attended an open event for complimentary health professionals at Earls Court, joining staff at the CNHC stand. I got to meet lots of Registrants and promote CNHC and the importance of a voluntary register to attendants.
