The Nutritional Therapy Education Commission (NTEC) are seeking nutrition or health related professionals to join their team of Accreditation Assessors.

NTEC is an executive body within the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and plays a key role in advancing the standards for Nutritional Therapy education and practice. They are a resource for regulators, professional associations and other stakeholders and they accredit and reaccredit courses against the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and the Core Curriculum for Nutritional therapy.

The successful candidate/s will work as part of an accreditation team and be involved in other accreditation events and online meetings. Accreditation training and mentoring will be included for successful applicants.

Your main duties

You will work as part of a team. There are 7 colleges, and each assessor will be assigned 2 colleges either as lead assessor or support. The colleges prepare annual reports for assessment by NTEC and every 3rd year each college has a formal accreditation process. You will be involved in all aspects of the NTEC accreditation process including:

  • Document reading
  • Writing readers reports
  • Organising Accreditation and Reaccreditation meetings
  • Presenting the reports at NTEC Board meetings.
  • You may also be involved in other NTEC processes and support other NTEC work when required, including developments in the accreditation process.
  • This is a part time role and will take approximately 6-10 days per year, with more time required in the last quarter of the year.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Registration with the CNHC and a current full member of BANT or to be involved in an allied complementary health profession and be registered with the relevant professional association
  • To have a comprehensive knowledge of the Nutritional Therapy profession or an allied complementary health therapy and be either a qualified therapist or involved in the education provision of your specialist therapy.
