Tara brings to the CNHC more than 20 years’ experience of medical education, specifically within regulation.
Starting at Surgical Colleges she introduced curricula for all specialties together with standards for trainers and facilitated the establishment of Emergency Medicine as an independent specialty.
She joined the College of Anaesthetists as Director of Education and Human Resources, leading the College relocation and establishment of their education suite.
Tara was invited to lead a review of the areas of evaluation of overseas trained doctors and Certification at the Postgraduate Medical and Education Training Board (PMETB). She led these areas on merger with the General Medical Council (GMC) before moving on to lead on approval of curricula, assessment systems, trainers and training environments.
Tara is a qualified neighbourhood and work place mediator and trustee for citizens advice. She runs a consultancy business specialising in medical education with a particular passion for standards, curricula design and continuous improvement.
