The Public Health England Stoptober campaign is back for another year.

This initiative encourages members of the public to give up smoking for 28 days, with the aim of providing tools to help them quit long term. We are encouraging CNHC registrants and other members of the public health workforce to support this campaign by spreading the word about the variety of support available to help quit smoking.

Hypnotherapy may also help members of the public achieve behaviour change to stop smoking. CNHC provides a UK register of trained and insured Hypnotherapists, searchable by location or name on our website here. Government recommends that members of the public consult an Accredited Register, such as ours, when seeking therapies not regulated by law.**

We have also developed a press release for CNHC registered Hypnotherapists to approach local media outlets, to show their support for the campaign and to encourage the public to make small and practical lifestyle changes to enhance their overall health and wellbeing.

** “Both the Government and the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) recommend that when a patient or service user chooses to visit a health or care practitioner who is unregulated, only those on an accredited register are consulted.” – Stated by Jane Ellison, MP Parliamentary Under Secretary for Health, addressing the House of Commons in November 2015
