The Rt Hon Sir Kevin Barron was a Member of Parliament for over 36 years during which time he focused his interest and influence on public health issues. Kevin’s dedication to the successful legislation banning smoking in public places led to his position as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and his Knighthood. As Chair of the Health Select Committee he experienced at first hand the healthcare systems of many other countries and also gained invaluable insights into the complex nature of our UK healthcare systems.

He has spoken at many national and international conferences on public health issues which included British Medical Association events, regional NHS conferences and international pharmaceutical and pharmacy conferences. Kevin’s interest in complementary healthcare throughout his career has prevailed and he now has the time and opportunity to contribute to the future of this increasingly needed provision.
