South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Complementary Therapist to work within their Wellbeing Department at St Benedict’s Hospice & Centre for Specialist Palliative Care in Sunderland. The position is 30 hours and a job share will be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic therapist to develop their skills within the field of specialist palliative care.

You will be a compassionate, sensitive, competent, and an experienced complementary therapist who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the emotional, physical, and psychological needs of patients, their families and carers.

  • Salary: £23,023 to £29,608 pa

You will have a desire to work within specialist palliative care, supporting patients dealing with life-limiting illnesses, end of life care, and their families and carers.

You will have an understanding of the needs of people who require palliative and end of life care.

You will be an experienced complementary therapist.

You will have excellent/ demonstrable communication skills.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team.

You will have experience managing your own caseload or client base.

You have knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Applications (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)

You will use a dynamic and creative approach, whilst working within national therapy guidelines.

You will be a qualified therapist with the required registration to provide your therapy(ies).

The ability to move and handle safely without causing harm to yourself or others.

The successful candidate will be expected to have registered with a recognised Professional Association and the CNHC upon starting the role.
