Marie Curie seeks volunteer complementary therapist, Newcastle

Marie Curie welcomes practitioners of a wide variety of complementary therapies to support patients and carers at their hospice in Newcastle.

It is vital that you have completed an approved training scheme, belong to a professional association, have current liability and indemnity insurance, and have at least one year's post-qualification experience. Ideally you will also be registered with CNHC.

The roles involves carrying out a specific therapy on patients and carers as referred to the service. Volunteers must be committed to the principles of palliative care and its application in practice.

Therapies sought include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Aromatherapy
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Massage (Swedish/Holistic/Indian Head /Remedial)
  • Reflexology
  • Reiki
  • Yoga and Relaxation

This role requires a disclosure check.

Location: Newcastle
Hours: 3 – 4 hours a week (10am – 3.00pm)
Days: Volunteers needed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
