The CNHC Board of Directors consists of 5 lay people (including the Vice Chair) and 4 registrants. Vacancies for Board members are advertised in the UK national press.

Professional Committee

CNHC has a Professional Committee (pool of mainly lay individuals from which Investigating, Professional Conduct & Competence and Health Panels are drawn).The Professional Committee also advises the Board on any generic (as distinct from profession specific) issues relating to education and training.

Professional Committee members have been recruited through a process of external advertising and selection. Members serve for an initial period of three years.

Profession Specific Boards (PSBs)

CNHC has a Profession Specific Board (PSB) for each of the disciplines registered with CNHC. PSBs provide advice to the CNHC Board about therapy-specific issues and are a key element of CNHC’s structure. See The Role, Terms of Reference & Membership Criteria for further information.

Appointments to the current PSBs is by means of elections managed by CNHC. Any practitioner registered at the time in the relevant discipline will be entitled to vote.
